All donations come in on a so-called third-party account. These are kept separate from all other cash flows. This is checked by a registered accountant and then filed with the tax authorities. The charities are paid directly from the third party account.

Actions for charities can be conducted by a private individual or an organization. If it concerns private fundraising activities, the donations will be transferred to a personal IBAN number. Whydonate advises to support these actions only if the organizer is known.

Tip: Pay attention if you want to make a donation to a private cause of which you don’t know the organizer.
